Pineapple Themed Summer Party

We finally are in the heart of the warm season! August is the month I love the most: for me it is synonymous with summer, sea, sun, holidays and of course parties with friends. So I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share a post dedicated to a summer super-trendy party.

Pineapple summer themed party

It’s already the second year that pineapples and flamingos are the must-have of summer: we see them everywhere, from storefronts to interior design, and I like this new trend a lot. Today’s post is all about an inspiration coming from Southern California. Laura, from Laura’s Little Party, shares with us a special party with lots of pineapples. Actually, Laura proposes this idea to celebrate Mother’s Day but I find it a fantastic design also for a summer party with friends.

The colour palette is unpredictable, not at all obvious or trivial. Laura combines yellow and green typical of pineapples to black and white, alternating stripes and dots as predominant patterns. The result is amazing! For the background Laura used an adjustable fabric frame to apply a black and white striped fabric. Then she added yellow, green and black paper decorations both in the background and to fill the spaces on the table. She alternates green paper fans, pineapples of different sizes, green balls, black paper lanterns and a giant pineapple as centrepiece.

Every small details has been thought carefully, including small gadgets in black mini-boxes with striped bow and gifts in black bags that guests can take home after the party. The dining table is set with a yellow polka dot tablecloth, black and white striped table runners, lanterns and frames. The paper plates are elegant and stylish. Tropical leaves with black plastic cutlery tied together add an extra creative touch.

Sweets and candies play a big role in this party, as well as a beverage bar decorated for the occasion with a gold glittered frame and black and white striped and polka dots paper straws. The cocktail of the day, pineapple sprizter, is served in transparent plastic flûtes with fresh fruit and yellow and white chevron paper straws. The dessert table is stunning! Apples covered with chocolate, macarons, cupcakes, pineapple-shaped mini-sweets and candy in a stick decorated with a black and white striped bow.

The setting is completed with black pineapple-shape cups decorated with green tissue paper.
